I'm Ilko Kacharov, CTO & Co-founder, Juma Labs, and I call myself the agent-native CTO. I build software with AI agents as part of the team and write here about what I learn doing it.
What an agent-native CTO does
An agent-native CTO runs engineering with AI agents as working members of the team. The agents write and review code and run internal tools. The CTO's job moves to the parts they can't do for themselves: giving them the right context, writing down when a task is done, and checking the work.
That is how we work at Juma Labs. Three places to start:
- We deleted Jira in three weeks
- Write the done-condition, not the prompt

My focus is the part of the stack that actually moves the needle in the LLM era: context engineering, AI agents that do real work, and the unglamorous discipline of shipping software a small team can still understand a year later.
At Juma Labs we're betting that the next era of software runs on context, not just content. This blog is where I think out loud about that bet and everything around it.
